Infrastructure project management




                                        Infrastructure that provides support for projects, programmers and portfolios, and is the focal point for the development and maintenance of P3 management within an organisation. For an organization's information technology, infrastructure management is the management of essential operation components, such as policies, processes, equipment, data, human resources, and external contacts etc.


                                          An Infrastructure project management should work with technical team leads and line mangers from project initiation and throughout the various project stages to ensure all outputs are defined and therefore resourced and executed correctly. Also works to create a strategy to manage the risk. A project is part of a programmer or portfolio, the project support function will be provided by the programmer or portfolio office.

         
                           Infrastructure in an information technology (IT) that refers to an enterprise's entire collection of hardware, software, networks, data centers, facilities and related equipment used to develop, test, operate, monitor,  and support information technology services. The infrastructure is the basic necessity for any software to run in Production Environment, the project management has to focus on getting equipment on time, ensuring that the equipment fits the requirements, people who are going to maintain the equipment are capable of working on the new equipment or arrange for training etc. 


                                  As an increasing information technology sector that moves to the global IT market,  so the need for structured project management practices increases.
